Exterior Painting done right
Exterior Painting tips
This is a season for exterior painting and here are some tips when you are looking for the contractor to paint your home:
Step 1: Pressure-Wash Walls. To ensure best coverage, remove dirt and dust buildup from house using a pressure washer.
Nick also looks at the mold on your exterior. If he sees any, he will make sure to wash it with solution to ensure that it will not come back. He will also include it on your estimate.
Step 2: Repair Damaged Surfaces.
Step 3: Remove Loose Paint. We scrape all loose paint and sand your wood fascia, and trim. Rodin Painting also identifies what wood is used on your house to ensure that appropriate primer is applied
Step 4: Caulk Trim. - We caulk also around all windows.
Step 5: Prime Stains. - Rodin Painting always uses appropriate primer to ensure that paint will not flake.
Step 6: Protect Doors, Windows and Lights. - Rodin Painting also protects all your plants around the house.
Step 7: Paint Exterior.
Step 8: Paint Trim
Paint front door.
Our customers always have choice of 3 colors. Body, Trim, front door.
We also recommend to choose color based on the color of your roof. (earth tones for terracotta color roof.)
Rodin Painting also provides 10 year warranty on all our exterior painting. We use Kelly Moore paint and match their warranty on the paint with warranty on labor since we do not ever cut corners.
When you receive an estimate from painting contractor, all these steps should be included on the proposal so no misunderstanding will arise.
Please always verify contractor's license, work comp, and general liability when you are hiring painters to work on your home.
